About the hostel
Louvain means comfort, history and innovation! Because of its rich past you can visit all sorts of historic buildings and churches, but also present-day exhibits in the M-Museum. Young & old blend in and create a city where life is nice.
It’s a must to have a beer at the ‘longest bar of Western Europe’ on the “Oude Markt”. You can make the choice: a day of culture, of shopping, or of wining & dining!
De Blauwput offers spacious rooms for 2, 4 and 6 persons, each with their own shower and toilet. The hostel has a total of 116 beds, divided over 28 rooms.
Individual lockers in the room (bring your own padlock or buy one at the reception)

By car: Leuven is situated next to the motorways E40 and E314. No matter from where you approach Leuven, take the first exit "Leuven" you see and drive onto the Leuven ring road. When on the ring road, follow direction Tienen. At the big crossroad called "Tiensepoort" drive away from Leuven, direction of Tienen. After about 300 meters you will reach traffic lights. Turn left direction "Diest", onto the Martelarenlaan. You are now following the railroad tracks. When you have driven about 1,5 kilometer (one mile) you will pass the train station on your left. The hostel is then on your right.
Parking: parking is available next to the hostel. To reach the nearest (paying) secure parking, return to the ring road of Leuven, and in the tunnel under the train station you take Parking Ring. The hostel is situated 50 meters further; take the pedestrian railway tunnel exit Kessel-Lo and walk under the bridge. You will see us on your left side.
By public transport: take the train or the bus to Leuven; inside the pedestrian tunnel under the railway station you follow the signs "Kessel-Lo". Leave the tunnel and walk under the bridge. WARNING: when in the French-speaking part of Belgium, do not order a ticket to "Louvain" because you might end up in Louvain-La-Neuve, our French-speaking sister city about 30 kilometers south of Leuven.
